Cooking is a wonderful activity that builds self-esteem, makes children try new types of food, as well as teaches them math, reading, and social skills.
First of all, we practiced the vocabulary we were going to use to make the "palha italiana" by playing a Bingo game. Then, after washing their hands, the children made some "palha italiana". Yummy! While waiting for it to cool a little, the students did a flying rocket project, using paper and drinking straws. Finally, we all had a delicious snack. It was a great and engaging experience.
